Project Scope

In response to the evolving needs of its members and the broader community, the WSA embarked on a comprehensive website redesign. The primary objectives were to modernise the user experience, enhance accessibility to resources, and integrate robust e-commerce functionalities.

Key components of the project included:

  • E-Commerce Platform Development: Establishment of a user-friendly online store featuring a range of products, including branded apparel and accessories.
  • Marketplace Integration: Creation of a dedicated marketplace section facilitating the listing and sale of Wagyu-related items such as animals, semen, embryos, feed, and equipment.
  • Member Portal Enhancement: Implementation of a secure member portal providing access to tools like animal searches, member enquiries, and breeding resources.
  • Content Management System (CMS): Deployment of a CMS to streamline the updating and management of content across the website.
  • Responsive Design: Ensuring optimal viewing and interaction experiences across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Application of SEO best practices to improve the website’s visibility and ranking on search engines.

Outcome

The revamped website has significantly enhanced the WSA’s digital presence, offering members and visitors a seamless and informative experience. The integrated e-commerce and marketplace features have opened new avenues for commerce and engagement within the Wagyu community. Furthermore, the improved accessibility and resource availability support the society’s mission to promote and develop the Wagyu industry in South Africa.
